 Meijer Recalls Glass Candleholders for Fire and Laceration Hazards

• Name of Product: Clear Glass Candleholders
• Units: About 6,500
• Distributor: Meijer, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
• Hazard: The glue connecting the candleholder could fail causing the candleholder to fall apart. This poses a fire and laceration hazard to consumers.
• Description: The clear glass candleholders are vase-shaped and measure about 11-inches tall. “At Home with Meijer” is printed on a label on the bottom of the candleholders.
• Sold exclusively at: Meijer stores in the Midwest from September 2004 through November 2005 for about $8.
• Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled candleholders immediately and return them to any Meijer store for a full refund.

Children’s Lamp Sold at The Home Depot® Recalled for Laceration Hazard

• Name of Product: Hampton Bay® Transitional Collection Fire Truck and Bulldozer Accent Lamp with Night Lights
• Units: About 9,500
• Manufacturer: Emess Design Group LLC, of Ellwood City, Pa.
• Hazard: The glass window of the fire truck and bulldozer night light can become dislodged, fall and shatter into small pieces. This poses a laceration hazard and a serious risk of injury if ingested by a small child.
• Description and Models: The recalled children’s lamps have a red toy fire truck or yellow toy bulldozer base that sits on a 6-inch wide by 9.75-inch long hand-painted wood base. SKU No. 167-367 is printed on the bottom of the base of the fire truck lamp and SKU No. 167-939 is printed on the bottom of the bulldozer lamp. The fire truck and bulldozer have glass windows. The overall assembled dimensions are about 12 inches wide by 20.5 high. “Made in China” is printed on the bottom of the lamps. Hampton Bay® is printed on the box only.
• Sold exclusively at: The Home Depot® stores nationwide from January 2006 through June 2006 for about $40.
  
• Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled lamps immediately and return the item to The Home Depot store for a full refund.

Hair Dryers Recalled for Electrocution Hazard

• Name of Product: “Monica” and “Turbo 1200” Hand-Held Hair Dryers
• Units: About 19,300
• Manufacturer/Importer: Style Tronics Inc., of Los Angeles, Calif.
• Hazard: These electric hair dryers are not equipped with an immersion protection plug to prevent electrocution if the hair dryer falls into water. Such electric shock protection devices are required by industry standards for all electric hand-held hair dryers.
• Incidents/Injuries: None reported
• Description: The recall involves two models of pistol-type hair dryers: The Monica hair dryer has its model name and number, SW-117, written on the handle. It is made of black plastic and chrome, and the handle folds up. The Turbo 1200 model has model number DS-507 written on the back of the handle. The model name is written on the blower nozzle. They are green and white and green.
• Sold at: Independent discount stores nationwide from April 2004 through June 2005 for between $3 and $5.
• Remedy: Consumers should stop using these hair dryers, and contact Style Tronics Inc. for a full refund.
